Sellers: Your Home Should be Accessible, But...

This is a new one for me:

I called to schedule an appointment to show a home.  The homeowner answered, I identified myself, and her response was:
"I'm sorry.  Can you call me back in 30 minutes?  I'm at the doctor's office and he is examining me right now."

OK.  I know I preach that sellers need to make their homes accessible - it's the only way to have your home shown and sold!

But, you really don't need to answer your phone while you are undergoing a medical examination.  Voice mail will do just fine.  I will leave a message and you will know exactly when I will be showing your home.

Heath - I have no idea why she answered her phone.  Voice mail would definitely have been preferred.

Amazing that she would even answer her phone in that situation! The doctor must have been irritated.

HMMMM...  I'm all about answering my phone, but that is more than I'm willing to do...  It would be fun though, after waiting for a long time to see the doctor to take a call and make him wait...

Wayne - I was a bit put-off, so I'm sure the doctor was annoyed, too.

Debbie - Good point. Maybe she was getting revenge on her doctor?
