July 3, 2003 was the day we adopted our first two children.
Being so close to Independence Day, we named it "Dependents' Day." Yes, we celebrate it each year with fireworks.

Happy Dependents Day!
and Happy 4th of July, Independence Day too!
Maureen - We woke this morning and wished each other a Happy Dependent's Day. We do it every year. And then we do it again throughout the day whenever the kids start acting up...
Dan - This is more for us parents. Adoption Day wasn't a big deal for the kids, as they had already been with us as foster children for a year, and even my eldest, who was nearly 7 at the time, just didn't quite get it. Today reminds us of all we've done and how far we've come. It also makes us realize just how far the boys have come, too.
Catherine - You're going to make me cry...
Thanks for the kind words...you do know the most of what we've been through. But, still, we haven't done anything that any other parent wouldn't do for their kids.
